Tour Description

Ischia may be one of Italy’s best-kept secrets (as far as international travellers are concerned), in Italy it is famed for its thermal spas, manicured gardens, striking Aragonese castle and unshowy, straightforward Italian airs – a feature also reflected in its food.

Ischia is a refreshing antidote to glitzy Capri. While jetsetters prefer Capri, Italians have been coming here forever. Being bigger than Capri, it simply offers more.

From luxurious resorts to simple hostels, from pretty spas and gardens to remote village frozen in time, cosy harbours, lazy beaches. Everything loomed over by Monte Epomeo, the island’s highest peak. A trip to Ischia offers an idea of how sweet la dolce vita can really be.

Detailed itinerary

DAY 1 - Arrival Day

Arrive at Naples airport and transfer to your hotel on the island. Orientation briefing and welcome stroll and aperitivo! Fine dinner and overnight

DAY 2 - Island tour and Mortella gardens

Enjoy a guided tour of the entire island, getting an idea of what Ischia is and offers. Last stop in Sant’Angelo for some time in the pedestrian area, enjoying its squares, its wonderful views and the brightly coloured houses. Continue on to the Mortella at the gardens, a true symphony of plants. After lunch in the gardens, enjoy this triumph of colours, fragrances and fill your eyes with this mind-blowing beauty of one of Italy’s finest botanical gardens with more than a thousand rare plants from all over the world.

DAY 3 - Mt. Epomeo

Ischia is also called isola verde, find out why on today’s walk from the village of Fontana to Ischia’s highest peak, Monte Epomeo. Even when the island is full of sun lovers down at the beaches, up here you’ll be almost alone. Enjoy the views and the landscape before having lunch at the top of the mountain and the afternoon descent.

DAY 4 - Procida

Procida is like a metaphor for modern Italy. So beautiful to die for, then again chaotic and without rules, cherished and neglected at the same time. An atmosphere o past times, the land of fishermen living in tiny houses with pastel facades and life going on in an unchanged rhythm. Procida is the best kept secret in the bay of Naples. Its narrow streets are filled with old vespas and 500s. Overshadowed by Capri and Ischia, Procida presents you an atmosphere almost gone all over Italy. A wonderful place to explore on foot.

DAY 5 - Capri

Take a ferry to Capri, the elegant one. The funicular takes you up to the main square. From here, take off for a morning walk away from the crowds, discovering a most beautiful island. Every year, iconic Capri attracts hordes of tourists and it is not to see hard why. Villas with wisteria and bougainvillea, everything in perfect shape, the island real estate seems to come right off a film set. Lunch in downtown Capri. Afternoon time to stroll the busy part of town.

DAY 6 - Vatoliere

View the ancient sulphur mines, are full of geysers that are intensively monitored by volcano experts to predict another “awakening” of the volcano. Walk to the summit of the volcano, to the volcanic area of Lentia, and to the natural springs by the seaside, continue to the Volcano Centre where the monitoring of the volcano’s activities are illustrated.

DAY 7 - Buonopane

The day is dedicated to Ischia’s waters and plants. Learn about them on a beautiful walk. Discover the south of the island and the peak of San Paolo. Last glorious lunch with locals in a remote place. Final highlight: discover an underwater excavation site in a glass bottom boat with a local guide.

DAY 8 - Departure

Transfer to Naples airport for departure.
